Utah Afghan Community Fund

#OneUtah
The Afghan Community Fund, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Utah, will ensure that Utah is prepared to welcome and support Afghan refugees. Under the leadership of Governor Spencer Cox, the state is working to address resource gaps in community, housing and basic needs for the 765 people who will soon resettle here.
We need your help!
Following the #OneUtah approach, the Governor’s Refugee Advisory Board—run by the state’s Refugee Services Office—crafted a unified method to align the efforts of the two resettlement agencies, International Rescue Committee and Catholic Community Services, and other partners, such as the Utah Muslim Civic League and World Trade Center Utah.
On October 19, 2021, Governor Spencer Cox announced the establishment of the Afghan Community Fund.
The Afghan Community Fund was established as a public-private partnership to address refugee resource gaps that were identified through an in-depth analysis conducted by the fund’s committee members. This funding will provide for special needs for women and children, legal support, healthcare, education, and more.
