Utah Women’s Group to Host Virtual Speaker Series Highlighting Collective Resilience

Salt Lake City, October 6th, 2020 –– The Utah Women’s Giving Circle, in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Utah and Better Days 2020, is hosting a series of three timely webinars titled Resilience 2020: From Susan B. Anthony to RGB: The history, resilience, and call to community.  Resilience 2020 is dedicated to reigniting Utah’s spirit of community, generosity, and resilience in the face of challenge.

The first session is titled The History of Women Reinventing the World and will be held on Thursday, October 15th, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. During this session, Katherine Kitterman and Tiffany Greene of Better Days 2020 will paint the historical backdrop of how women have led forward in times of difficulty, coming together to create the cultural movements that shaped our state, nation, and world for the better; this year in particular being marked by the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment and the 150th anniversary of Utah women being the first to vote in the nation.

The second session is titled Triaging Resilience in the Midst of Crisis and will be held on Thursday, November 5th, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. During this session, Em Capito, LCSW, MBA, RYT, will share a research-based tangible framework for triaging our personal resilience along with the strategic shifts that deepen our roots, for ourselves, our families, and our teams, toward the collective resilience that will lead our communities into the reinvention and renewal ahead.

The third session is titled New Possibilities Amidst the Unraveling and will be held Thursday, November 12th from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Sara Jones, CEO of InclusionPro, will talk about how to identify opportunities in the midst of turmoil. She will remind us that unraveling our expectations gives us space, freedom, and clear eyes to see things differently. Come be refreshed, renewed, and re-inspired to make an impact in new and different ways.

As the nonprofits in our struggle to meet increased demand, Utah families continue to face an uncertain future. This series of talks is open to all and aims to shift the conversation from reactivity to tangible strategies to respond to the uncertainty and stress many are dealing with – as an individual, a family, and as a community.
