Community Foundation of Utah Receives National Accreditation

14 July 2017 Published in News

The Community Foundation of Utah has recently been accredited with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations®—the highest standards for philanthropic excellence.

We work to support the causes our community cares about, from supporting the arts and cultivating gardens to curing illness, expanding literacy and feeding children. Our National Standards accreditation means that we meet the most rigorous standards in philanthropy.

National Standards is not a mandatory requirement for community foundations. Like many things we do, we chose to go above and beyond to affirm our commitment to excellence and accountability. Our accreditation provides assurance that we meet the highest standards for local giving.

To receive accreditation with National Standards, the Community Foundation of Utah’s policies and procedures were rigorously reviewed within 41 National Standards and six key practice areas of community foundation operations.  These focus areas included including donor services, investment management, grantmaking and administration.

The National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations® program was established in 2000 in cooperation with the Council on Foundations. For more information about National Standards, visit www.cfstandards.org.
